...

I was looking forward to going to the black tie engagment party tonight but then Nat rang and stressed me out. Nat decided that his new shirt and tie and other clothes he was wearing weren't good enough and went and hired a suit (left work to do so.) Now Nat is happy as he will be in the "proper" clothing. I am wearing my sister's formal dress that is about 1/2 a size to big for me but my formal dressed don't fit or show the mummy tummy that looks ohhh so not glamerous. I was fairly happy to wear my sister's dress, Nat thought I was wearing my chinese dress that I wore for my formal (the one the shows the mummy tummy) and now I don't want to wear any. I'd love to go and buy a new dress, but not for one night and we don't have the money to do so.

My SIL and brother are coming with us too, and my SIL is wearing one of my dresses, fits her like a glove and looks awesome and she is having a hair and make up trial today (for her wedding) as well so I feel as if I am going to be like the frumpiest out of us all... My other SIL is coming over to do my hair and make up (which I am thankful for) but it is not the same as a professional hairdresser etc.

Sorry this is a very depressing post, I am just bummed regarding the whole clothing thing and also quite dizzy and faint today. You know how one thing on top of another just adds more crap to the pile till it all topples over. Plus, I need to keep a better record for the doctor re my mood swings. I did do it last month but it wasn't as complete as it could have been.

Hi Ros,
I can so relate to what you're saying. I HATE formal invites, I never have anything nice to wear, my shoes are always scuffed, my nails are always broken and my hair is always messy. I wish I could be one of those people who always look 'put together' but it's just not me! Oh well, trying to embrace imperfection. Ha ha.
Hope you have a fun night anyway.
